Explorer Kit Revision — from framework to open question

June 25, 2026

Reframed the Tim-facing Explorer Kit so the framework recedes and the question leads — and named the Strike underneath it: the experiment isn't whether ForgeKit transfers, it's whether ForgeKit has discovered laws.

Timeline

Start
Read the full kit + prior two retros
Explorer kit (Tim-facing + for-zeb), focus.md, the two 06-25 session JSONs
Diagnosis
Found the real 10%
for-zeb docs already run the 'laws' frame; Tim-facing docs still onboard him to a framework
Decision
Three choices confirmed with Zeb
Implicit frame for Tim, light discoveries.md, kit-only scope
Build
6 surgical edits + 1 new file
Posture change, not weight added — kept the kit's lightness
Harvest
Anvil + Strike to the journal
The experiment is law-discovery, not transfer validation

What shipped

README.md reopened as a question (why do some people get better with AI while others restart?) — Tim cast as co-researcher, not test subject; added permission to quit ('quitting is data')

THE-LOOP.md reframed 'a way to stay in charge' → 'my current best hypothesis'; elevated 'the script was disposable, the insight wasn't'; closer asks which of the eight deserve to exist

New discoveries.md (Tim-facing, light) — one optional question inviting findings about working with AI even if unrelated to the loop

session-note.md unbiased: 'where the AI gave you something wrong' → 'what surprised you'

handoff-protocol.md file list updated to include discoveries.md in the Tim-facing set

Anvil + Strike captured: the experiment isn't whether ForgeKit transfers, it's whether ForgeKit has discovered laws

The experiment isn't whether ForgeKit transfers. It's whether ForgeKit has discovered laws — and laws don't belong to ForgeKit.
